"September 1, 1939: Germany invades Poland, starting World War II in Europe. April 9, 1940: Germany invades Denmark and Norway. April 6, 1941: Germany invades Yugoslavia and Greece. June 22, 1941: Germany invades the Soviet Union. December 11, 1941: Nazi Germany declares war on the United States. June 6, 1944: D-Day: Allied forces invade Normandy, France 3("The Holocaust and WWII: Timeline")."
The first country taken control by Nazis was Austria on March 12 1938. After this, on March 15 of 1939, Germany invades Czechoslovakia. The invasion of Poland on September 1 of 1939 provoked World War 2. "Between 1939 and June 1941 the German army invaded and occupied many countries, comprised of the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Greece, Norway and Western Poland 8("Which Countries Did the Nazis Occupy?")". By now several million Jews were living under Nazi control. The Jews in these countries encountered the same treatment as they would have in Germany 8("Which Countries Did the Nazis Occupy?"). The only difference being how quickly the Nazis enforced anti-Jewish laws.
